ASPIRA middle school students from P.S./M.S. 5 Port Morris played a basketball game against the New York City Police Department - 40th Precinct.


The effort to meaningfully engage young people, help them hone their basketball skills, and to strive and foster a positive outlook on education and community-building.




“Engagement like this exhibits sportsmanship, comradeship and just all over fun that can carry over into the fabric of the neighborhood. Our goal is to continue to strengthen our partnership with NYPD with hopes of improving the perception of community policing”, said Jamaal Thompson, Program Director.
