ASPIRA of New York serves thousands of students in 16 after school programs through our SONYC, COMPASS, Beacon, and Leadership College Access programs.

Our Programs

ASPIRA of New York continues to support the lives of children, families, and communities in the pursuit of educational excellence through leadership development activities and programs as it has for the last 61 years.

Beacon

Our Beacon provides an integrated array of culturally appropriate, challenging and engaging youth development initiatives, including community involvement, service learning, life and resiliency skill development, college prep and career awareness, and academic enrichment activities in core subject areas.

Community Schools

The Office of Community Schools mission is to create and sustain school and CBO Partnerships through intentional collaborative leadership that empower students, families, and communities to thrive.

COMPASS

Comprehensive After School System (COMPASS) offers quality programs with a strong balance of academics, recreation, enrichment and cultural activities to support and strengthen the overall development of young people.

SONYC

School’s Out New York City (SONYC) serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Structured like clubs, the model offers young people a choice in how they spend their time; provides rigorous instruction in sports and arts; and requires youth leadership through service.

Leadership & College Access Program

The Leadership & College Access Program is the core of ASPIRA of New York. Dr. Antonia Pantoja’s vision was to give young people the tools they needed to become future leaders of their communities.

Summer Youth Employment Program

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.
