Hey ASPIRA Junior Alumni!

No matter where you are right now, college campus, first job, gap year, or figuring things out, you are still part of the ASPIRA family. This newsletter is your space to stay connected, be inspired, and remember where it all started.

This month, we’re honored to feature Luis Reyes, an ASPIRA alumnus whose journey from the Upper West Side of Manhattan to national recognition as a film historian, author, and cultural advocate is nothing short of inspiring.

Name: Annie Villacres

School: Pan American International High School

Grade: 10th Grade

Future Interests: Finance, Digital Business, Art, Entrepreneurship


What inspired you to join ASPIRA?

“Leadership was my main motivation for joining ASPIRA. I want to become a leader in my future art company, and ASPIRA has been very helpful for my life and my goals.”


Favorite ASPIRA experience so far?

“When we went to LaGuardia Community College for CYC. We learned more about ASPIRA, spent time together, and had fun while learning.”


What did you learn from attending CYC (College & Youth Conference)?

“I learned what college classes are like and received helpful advice about financial aid. It helped me understand what my future could look like.”


What do you hope to gain from ASPIRA?

“More leadership opportunities, and maybe even becoming an ASPIRA staff member one day!”


Fun Fact: Annie is passionate about combining art, business, and leadership to build her own company one day.





Internship & Early Career Opportunities


Junior alumni are encouraged to explore these paid internship and early-career programs with leading organizations


Aon Future Leaders Summit (Jan 16) – An in-person, half-day immersive career event on Friday, January 23 (9:30 AM–2:00 PM) at Aon’s NYC office (165 Broadway). Open to students interested in risk management, insurance, and consulting; attendees will network with industry leaders, explore internship and full-time opportunities, and be prioritized for first-round interviews for Summer 2026 internships.


Neuberger Berman – Join Neuberger’s Internship Talent Pool to be considered for future internship opportunities in asset management. Open to undergraduate and graduate students, this program offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse teams in an inclusive environment.



Verizon Student Internships – Paid internships offering real-world projects, mentorship, and career development across multiple fields.
