Our Summer Rising participants from Soundview Academy for Culture and Scholarship took a short ferry ride to Governors Island.
They explored Fort Jay, Castle Williams, and the many historical buildings. They also hung out at Liggett Terrace playground and Hammock Grove obstacle courses while enjoying 360-degree panoramic views of the harbor, the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan skyline.
